Cogmed coaching model ensures 90% completion rate

The Cogmed training method consists of 25 computerized training sessions, each 30-45 minutes long. Each session consists of a selection of various tasks that target different aspects of working memory. The training is done on a computer at home, in school or at work. The training program lasts five weeks with five sessions every week. It is a rigorous program that is designed to improve working memory through intensive and systematic training.

Cogmed training is led by a Cogmed Qualified Coach who works with the user to provide structure, motivation and feedback on the progress. The program is challenging and rewarding, and for the best possible training effects, sustained effort is necessary.

Cogmed has a proven track record of providing users with excellent support and results in all settings where Cogmed is available. The complete program includes:

  • Initial Interview – As a Cogmed provider, we provide screening to determine suitable users and evaluate the likelihood of users being able to benefiting from training.

Cogmed Coaching Model

  • ​Start-up session – Our Cogmed Coach plans and structures the training.​
  • ​​After Cogmed training is completed, the Cogmed Coach summarizes the training with the user in a Wrap-up session and provides feedback data from rating scales and the Cogmed Training Web.

  • The user goes through five weeks of training with weekly coach calls at home, at school or at work to get advice on how to get the most out of training, receive feedback and increase motivation.​


  • Access to the Cogmed Training Web is provided to the user and the Cogmed Coach who review and monitor the results of each day’s training using the online system.​
