Dear Peg - thanks for referring Dan K. I have reviewed your typically outstanding report and I look forward to addressing the issues you pointed out. The comment by his mother about his good/bad days is an indicator that allergies may indeed be playing a big role. What I look for with issues with attention span is variability - if there is variability, then chances are treating allergies along with dietary changes and supplements may indeed work. On the other hand, the children who have the same attention span and issues consistently day in/day out often require medication. Thanks again for your confidence. In my over 42 years of medical practice, I have never seen evaluation reports as outstanding as yours . . . . you really are terrific. Sincerely, Richard E. Layton, M.D.

Dear Dr. Kay, I was an expert witness (as were you) for the case in Oregon and am contacting you first to compliment you on your outstanding report and, secondly, to ask you for your preferences regarding including your name and address at the top of the report when it is circulated in HIPAA-compliant form with my graduate students. When I saw your outstanding report, I asked the parent if I could use it as a basis for a case study in my Spoken & Written Language Disorders class here at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Your report was exceptional and I would like to let students know how to reach you. Charles W. "Dr. Kay's 1997 evaluation was thorough and specific and was clearly pitched, even more than to the Parents, to the District educators who could profit from and utilize the material therein. Dr. Kay's evaluation and recommendations, in fact, presented the District with a virtual blueprint for developing an outstanding IEP for Brian if it chose to take advantage of this rich and detailed diagnostic and prescriptive document generated at no cost to itself." PA Hearing officer B.H. vs. Cumberland Valley School District March 2000

Hello Peg: Here is the decision hot off the press. We won! I'm assuming the other side will appeal immediately in order to get more time in stay put, however, so I don't think this decision will make any difference this year! In any case, thanks again for your excellent testimony. Hope you had a good summer. Regards, ML (Attorney for the school district)

"I had some parents travel from the Richmond, VA area a month ago for an extensive evaluation and review of prior test history. They said that Dr. Kay's assessment and feedback was the evaluation to end all evaluations and that their great regret was that they had not done it years ago. They raved about her." Peter W.D. Wright, Esquire

"To Whom It May Concern: I have had the pleasure of interacting professionally with, and referring my patients to, Margaret Kay, Ed.D, for the past ten or more years. We both provide professional services to children who are in need of diagnostic evaluations and I have had the opportunity to share numerous pediatric cases with her. Dr. Kay is an outstanding diagnostician. Her diagnostic evaluations are comprehensive and she uses a wide range of assessment tools to provide a profile for each child. She is well known for the detailed interpretation of tests, and her ability to translate results in a written report so that parents and professionals know what the child's strengths and needs are and how to help the child.

I've referred numerous patients to Dr. Kay who travel some distance to obtain her services and am quite comfortable doing so. Quality of work is crucial to proper diagnosis in children. Feedback from parents about how helpful her services have been to their children is always very positive. I'd be happy to recommend Dr. Kay's professional services to anyone who seeks such and have been very pleased to have had the opportunity of sending my patients to her. Maxine Young, AuD., FAAA

Dr. Kay provides me with thorough, detailed reports, which include not only diagnostic information, but also specific information about any limitations which may affect my client's ability to obtain employment. Her reports are a key factor in establishing OVR eligibility and appropriate service provision." Beth Zakutney, Rehabilitation Counselor, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
