Psychotherapy & EMDR

  • Dr. Kay received her EMDR Level I training at Temple University in 1991 with Dr. Francine Shapiro, the originator and developer of EMDR. Following years of successful EMDR intervention with automobile accident victims, rape and trauma victims, and persons suffering from phobias, panic disorders and anxiety attacks, Dr. Kay returned to Temple University in 1997 to obtain her Level II certification in EMDR with Dr. Shapiro.
  • Hailed as the most important method to emerge in psychotherapy in decades, EMDR has been successfully used to treat complex psychological problems including depression, phobias, recurrent nightmares, PTSD and long-standing grief.
  • We also provide Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), systematic desensitization, therapy for anxiety and depression, parent support, marriage and relationship counseling, support services for children and adults with disabilities, such as Autistic Spectrum disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

"I am the Assistant Director of the Victim/Witness Service Program in Lancaster County...I have sent Margaret Kay challenging referrals...all the victims of serious crimes. I sent these clients to her with confidence, because she is not only a very well-qualified therapist using a variety of skills, she is also very ethical... The feedback I get from victims has been very positive. I have seen many remarkable changes in them. The most enlightening of these changes are the feelings of empowerment emanating from therapy with Dr. Kay. She conducts herself in a very caring way with the victims and is very supportive to the extended families." Barbara Wash, Assistant Director, Victim/Witness Services, Office of the District Attorney of Lancaster County
